!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! 20 years ago, on February 28, 1995, Denver International Airport (DIA) opened to the public. The massive project, with its Rocky Mountain-shaped Jeppesen terminal, was 16 months behind schedule and nearly twice its original budget at almost $5 billion.
Before DIA could begin operations thousands of vehicles needed to make the 15 mile trek from Stapleton International, which ceased commercial operations on February 27, 1995. Over the course of 12 hours, over 100 aircraft, 13,000 vehicles, and 6,000 rental cars were moved to their new home in what was termed "Push Night".
